STANDING ON BENDED KNEES

Standing on bended knees speaks about the effects of the recent lootings in South Africa amid the Covid 19 epidemic. The figure before us, represents the desperation of how the economy has affected culture, tradition, businesses and every individual. The desperation signifies an economy on its knees, while others still stand in riches and unaffected. The ordinary man, in his quest for betterment, resorted to self-help by looting but only realized the destruction after, that he had bitten off the hand that feeds him. Confusion and despair are contrasted against strong soft colors as anticipation for hope.
