A depiction of our education system. Our government cannot look after its offspring even though it pulls the strings of our society. While private schools, of which the government’s biological children attend, are functioning very smoothly under the Covid19 pandemic. This work represents the symbol of white and privilege and the study of being educated.. The insignificance of many a voter is shortchanged to ride this foreign beast which has become protocol for survival in the system of what is called political world.. The artist looks at education as a privilege that has been robbed of many citizens and as a cause of a dividing line in our society. If only education was free as per promise before we voted. Mncela derives his conclusions on this piece in accordance with private schooling in most African countries. The education system is like a beast that those with the intuition of affordability to exorbitant fees receive the best of education. This deadpan comparison is a mockery to most government led schools, that in their blackness, the system has failed its citizens first with free education and secondly with the quality of education. Mncela portrays the ‘whiteness’ of students as a suggestion through his frustrations that being educated might after all be a foreign system in his own world
